The treatment consists of entering a room at a temperature set to a minimum of -120 degrees celsius for a typical time period of 3 minutes after which patients immediately return to normal room temperature.
This extreme contrast in temperature causes the body to constrict the blood flow initially and then to dilate the blood vessels to promote a surge in blood circulation. This sudden surge in blood flow has consistently been shown to promote regeneration to damaged tissue accelerating the recovery process.
