The process involves exercising at various intensities while wearing a mask providing a simulated altitude effect. This means that you can get a greater training response for the same training program when compared to sea level.
The benefits of altitude training are probably more pronounced during injury. The impact of detraining during injury especially during non-weight bearing injuries or post surgery will prolong the rehabilitation, meaning week’s wasted regaining fitness.
